Using Lightspeed K-Series with 10Seat
When Lightspeed K-Series is connected to 10Seat, both systems work together during service. It's important to understand when you use 10Seat and when Lightspeed K-Series takes over.
Important: who controls the table? There is a clear distinction between before seating and after seating:
Before seating β everything is managed in 10Seat
After seating β Lightspeed K-Series POS becomes the source of truth
What is no longer possible in 10Seat after seating? From the moment a reservation is seated:
β You cannot move the reservation to another table in 10Seat
β You cannot complete or free up the table in 10Seat
π These actions must be done in Lightspeed K-Series POS
How it works in practice
Reservation β seating
You create a reservation in 10Seat (manually or via the widget)
The reservation is visible in the Lightspeed K-Series back office under the reservations page
You seat the reservation
What happens automatically:
A receipt is opened in Lightspeed K-Series
On the mapped table
Guest information is sent to Lightspeed K-Series
If the reservation has multiple tables (multi-tabling), all tables are automatically opened on the POS
Walk-in via 10Seat
You create a walk-in in 10Seat
You seat the table
Result:
10Seat automatically opens a receipt in Lightspeed K-Series
The table is occupied in both systems
Walk-in via Lightspeed K-Series
You open a table or receipt in Lightspeed K-Series POS
Result:
The table is automatically blocked in 10Seat
Visible to your host team
Linking extra tables after seating
If guests need additional tables once they're already seated, link the extra tables directly in Lightspeed K-Series POS
10Seat will update accordingly to reflect the new table configuration
What you can see in 10Seat During service, 10Seat shows live data from Lightspeed K-Series:
Whether a table has an active receipt
The status of the receipt
The items on the receipt
If a guest record is linked to the reservation, 10Seat also keeps track of:
The spend of the reservation
The guest's average spend
The items ordered
This helps your team:
Understand what's happening on the floor
Make better seating decisions
Build a richer guest history over time
Summary
Before seating β managed in 10Seat
After seating β managed in Lightspeed K-Series POS
10Seat continues to provide live visibility, including guest spend and item history
If something doesn't behave as expected, check if the table already has an active POS receiptβthis determines which system is in control.
